2000, File 13
Layered in giddy pop grooves, a sticky guitar wash, and familiar phrases and favorites, Lenola's "Electric Tickle" EP (FT31.5) carves five scrupulous slabs from the quartet's unceasing sonic catalog. Lenola has amassed a discography well-over twenty releases strong distinctly marked by six year's of gradual coherence both stylistically and in their home-recordin fascination. Having leaped the dense walls of My Bloody Valentine dissonance and spit out hefty Polvo doses on their first two full-lengths, "The Electric Tickle" further defines Lenola's effort toward quixotic song dynamics. Pulled from the yet to be released "Treat Me To Some Life" LP (FT32), the first track, "Slipping Under the Shadows," has garnered praise as a one-sided 7" released earlier this year on the UK's Earworm label.
