The Fall Of Richmond

Avail and The Young Pioneers are both from the capitol city of the Confederacy, Richmond, Virginia. Now, there is a new insurrection brewing...Avail are the city's unsung heroes, spending much of their time away from home and their dogs, packing halls and all ages clubs from sea to shining sea. The Young Pioneers are Richmond's revolutionaries, cradling calls-to-action within chainsaw buzzed melodies and distorted vocals. Together, they are bringing about the fall of Richmond, while singing its new song, laying bear the city's soul. Drums and words and guitars poised to scrape away at the rotted wood, broken windows, and piss-stinkbricks. The latest volume in a series of split EP's that have featured bands like:cub, The Smugglers, The Hi Fives, Screeching Weasel, and Adam Young Pioneers' former band Born Against. This record features new unreleased numbers from both bands recorded in Downtown Richmond, and includes an Avail cover version of Billy Joel's "You May Be Right."
