2004, Absolutely Kosher
The incredible third album from Victoria, BC's knockdown dragout. Every Frog Eyes album is an exercise in entropy, disintegrating as it overwhelms you with its size, but The Folded Palm is positively shattering in its decay and titanic in its stature. Frog Eyes is like no band you ever heard, but there's a good chance that if you like Xiu Xiu, old Bowie or Captain Beefheart, you won't be disappointed.

Customer Reviews

Smiley, LesterThis CD is possibly the best jumping on point for people interested in this fascinating band. The songs are pared down to their essence, many clocking in at under two minutes. The songs run together forming a non-stop stream of great, propulsive, intellectual punk insanity. The vocals are a main draw, Carey Mercer has a commanding set of pipes and absolutely no sense of restraint when it comes to using them. The musical backdrop is great too, a shambolic machine, made of garbage, played by landfill hounds on speed. Check it out!!!!
