The Instinct

Richmond's Denali has seen great change of late. During preparations for the recording of "The Instinct," two members lost love, one found it anew, and another became engaged. The band also lost their long-standing rehearsal space, rescheduled studio time in the 11th hour, and cancelled a European Tour in order to focus on this album. With such emotional extremes come contrast and introspection, translating into shorter songs, quicker tempos, and seemingly new eyes on the world. Gone are the cold, reserved, atmospheres of the first album, as DENALI is reborn through more evolved, immediate, impassioned, and enveloping compositions.
