The Lilys and Aspera Ad Astra - old school vs. new school. Perhaps the only thing that these two bands have in common is that they are both based in Philly. Yeah sure, Kurt Heasley of The Lilys and Matt Werth of Aspera have played together in the buzz-worthy Mazarin but the similarities end there. Nonetheless, the eight tracks presented here (4 from The Lilys, 4 from Aspera Ad Astra) are a cohesive and comprehensive documentation of yesteryear's underground and tomorrow's new sound.
