2004, Undetected Plagiarism
Undetected Plagiarism has the distinct privilege of presenting "The Mean Way In," the second EP from the California quartet, Division Day. The band, inspired by the likes of Fugazi, Kool Keith, Wilco, Boards of Canada, and Richard Buckner, sought to create a sound characterized by dense harmonies, warm keyboard tones, swath of angular guitar, and a tumbling, athletic rhythm section. Indeed, "The Mean Way In" is a work of stark beauty. Infused with haunting melodies, complex arrangements, vibrant sonic palettes, and infectious rhythms, it's a challenging and reward work.
