2004, Gern Blandsten
Radio 4 take their cues from the late '70s/early '80s post-punk scene (think Au Pairs, Gang of Four, Mission of Burma, The Cure) and combine it with a modern dose of inspiration and style. The music is edgy, melodic, and danceable all at once. Produced by Tim O'Heir (Sebadoh, Buffalo Tom, J. Mascis), "The New Song and Dance" has "...a casually authoritative grasp on Clashy dub-inflected punk, an echoing trill that could be mistaken for Gang of Four or Wire, and a hell of a way with a melody."
