2000, Mjall (Sweden)
The last ten years, Monika Svensson a.k.a. DJ Demonika has been active within the music business as a writer, reviewer, editor at Musikermagasinet's bpm-department, concert promoter and disc jockey. Lately she's also been a jockey at a collage radio station, involved in FuktTv and taking sound-engineering classes. In her ten-inch debut release on Mjäll, Monika gets to develop her recording skills. Apart from the track Imminent, where she has had assistance from Sebastian Hankers on bass and Infinity, vocal from Black Moses, she has written, produced and performed the material all by herself. Warm and "house-like" athmospherics... Her musical influences are numerous and in 1999 she interviewed some of her favorites; Two Lone Swordsmen, Nightmares On Wax, Herbaliser, Ashley Beedle, Cinematic Orchestra, Hell, Ian Pooley, Red Snapper and Rainer Trüby.
