The band describes their musical style as ambient soundtrack doomrock. The ocean utilize's a vast array of influences king crimson, portishead, and mogwai to the refused, breach, neurosis and godspeed you black emperor!. Musically, the ocean combines intricate orchestral soundtrack-esque arrangements with thick guitar-dominated outburst of passion and fury. Violens, flutes and trombones are joined into the musical fray along with metallic guitars and doublebass drums. Five tracks, over forty minutes long. Above average.
