The Rite of Spring

Chicago's experimental Butchershop Quartet adapted Igor Stravinksy's "The Rite of Spring" for two guitars, a bass, and drums. This recording by Steve Albini highlights their meticulous and faithful approach to their rendition -- an intense, elliptical piece. Members have played in or with Songs: Ohia, Cheer Accident, Bobby Conn, Nad Navillus, and Nina Nastasia. The second CD is a full-length remix collaboration of the BSQ's recording between Offwhyte, Meaty Ogre, Maker, White Lightning, and Mestizo. They've created a moody, bittersweet, chillout record showcasing classic Chicago hip-hop production and revolutionary rhymes. A brilliant endeavor!
