The Saint James Society

After the sun had set in San Francisco, The St. James Society awoke in Austin, TX with dirty boots and scraped knees. Former members of SF bands NylonHeartAttack and The Gypsy Moonlight Band found each other kicking dust around the downtown streets of Austin not having realized that they had made the Texodus at the same time. Guitars strapped tight, searching for bourbon and a spotlight, they grabbed a primitive drummer and a pair of serpentine females to haunt the the stages of Austin's psychedelic scene. After a handful of gigs in some of Austin's renowned rock and roll clubs, they recorded an EP. Four songs of dirty, glitter-psyche entitled, 'Pray For Us.' The record was done live under the production guidance of acclaimed noise-guru, Erik Wofford, in a crash-and-burn 4 day recording session channeling the vintage sounds that had influenced the psychedelic doom-wave textural grit that the recording had captured. Bands like the Velvet Underground, Southern Death Cult, 13th Floor Elevators, and Siouxsie & The Banshees all have moments during "Pray For Us" where homage is paid. US tour and Festival dates are in the works. Pray For Us.
