2011, Atlantic Records
VINYL FORMAT. The Spinners hailed from Detroit, but this is essentially a lush Philadelphia soul record from producer Thom Bell, who controlled every aspect of the recording process. Glorious anthems, including "Ghetto Child," "How Could I Let You Get Away" and "Just Can't Get You Out of My Mind." This was the record Elton John heard, resulting in The Complete Thom Bell Sessions. Exact reproduction reissue manufactured by Rhino, originally released in 1973. 'A superb album, arguably their finest, though not their biggest, crossover work. The Spinners teamed with Thom Bell and made Motown look stupid with this album of glorious anthems. "I'll Be Around" and "Could It Be I'm Falling in Love" ended any discussions, mentions, or even thoughts of their former lead singer G.C. Cameron, as Phillippe Wynne was emerging as the king of immaculate, sophisticated soul. They had three R&B chart toppers from this album and were now dominating the Motown acts they once idolized.' - Ron Wynn / All Music Guide
