Katie Jane Garside taps into her folk roots with material she wrote and recorded searching for the illusive world of Ruby Throat. On a dark rainy night Garside was bewitched by the distant sound of slide guitar on the London underground, so she introduced herself to the stranger playing lapsteel on the platform. The two decided to forge Ruby Throat. With songs reeling out, improvised and captured in friends studios and front rooms they went in search for a beam from somewhere else. A new world all its own; a world very much of the now but also of the then - life and death - where dreams and reality collide. These 12 tracks draw you in, a gothic folk spell is cast and a tidal ebb and flow of emotions wash over as you are wooed by Katie Jane and Chris Wittingham. Katie Jane was front woman for 90's UK indie pop act Daisy Chainsaw, has released LPs on the One Little Indian label with her band Queen Adreena, and has collaborated with Current 93 and Hector Zazou.
