The Freshies were a band that enjoyed a cult status back at the beginning of the eighties with their greatest hit, 'I'm In Love With The Girl From The Manchester Megastore Checkout Desk'. The single reached no 54 in the national charts in February 1981, with total sales of 40,000. Also included are the tracks, 'I Can't Get Bouncing Babies By Teardrop Explodes' and 'If You Really Love Me, Buy Me A Shirt', both were Indie chart hits and both appear on digital album for the first time. Chris Sievey was the artist behind the Freshies, who also was and still is Frank Sidebottom. As Frank, Chris has enjoyed further success starring on many Radio and TV shows.
