2001, Sub Pop
The Violent Years comes on the heels of the 1999 self-titled debut on Sub Pop imprint label Die Young, Stay Pretty. Now signed to Sub Pop proper, the band hit the studios with the illustrious Jack Endino (who, blah blah blah - produced Nirvana's Bleach and has gone down in history as the almighty creator of 'grunge,' when actually he's much more multi-faceted). Anyway, the record came out super duper and loud and just rotten delicious, just like you knew it would.

To date the Black Halos have made nine North American tours with bands like L7, Murder City Devils and Nikki Sudden, as well as receiving enthusiastic reviews from the magazines Playboy, Flipside, Kerrang!, Metal Hammer, and Hit List. In the latter, editor Jeff Bale picked the album as one of the five best punk records of the '90s. Onward and upward, the Black Halos are here to spike your punchbowl and leave their butt prints on your xerox machine.
