Witch Season (CD)
The long-awaited third album from country-rock super-faves, The Court and Spark, and the band's delicious follow-up to the band's recent "Dead Diamond River" EP. Twelve solid tracks of Byrds/Burrito Brothers twang and lilt, dressed up, infused, and distilled with sonic elements from all over the map -- including the use of a one-of-a-kind pump organ housed at San Francisco's St. John the Evangelist Church, some horn-drenched dub, some Stonesy honky tonk, and a taste of gentle psychedelia. A Topanga Canyon sunshine reverie, and the band's crowning achievement thus far.

| This is one of the best albums I've bought...
Witch Season was the first album by The Court and Spark that I purchased and now own them all (including the side project Boxharp). Give them a try, for I thought at one time that I "hated" country music... Guess I was wrong. ;) | |
