There Are Two of You

VINYL FORMAT. Daniel's a friend I met in Austin during his time with the When Dinosaurs Ruled the Earth posse, which - errr - ruled, but he really blew me away with his solo songs. His looped guitar squalls, tumbling drumbeats, and soft croon volley between tender confessionals and harsh tantrums, and his live performances continue to amaze and convert audiences every time I see him. The new single is for "There Are Two of You", and it's an ear-worm of a track, easily his most endearing and skewed pop song yet. This song caught my attention the first time he played it live, and I swear that every time I play the recording for a friend, they're singing it the next day. The B-side is a rager called "Sharing Stories" - anyone who's seen Daniel play should know what you're in for. And if you haven't seen the man play, time to get with the program!!
