This Ship Will Sink

While this may be an EP, there's so much crammed into these songs, and the songs have so much energy and passion, you may well be spent after listening to it. One minute, it's all-out charging and distorted rock, paired with harsh growls almost frightening in their intensity, and then shifts and sways into noodley technical guitar and spoken words. You can't guess what will come next, as the songs bound from one to another with ceaseless energy. Lyrically, This Ship casts a critical eye on our society; they are positively and productively confrontational, hoping we won't idly accept the status quo. The band features members of the now-defunct You and I, The Assistant, and Neil Perry, although when you hear what Jason, Steve, and Tom have created with This Ship Will Sink, none of that will matter. These songs stand tall on their own and promise an amazing future. (All profits from this release will be split between two organizations that are fighting for the rights and dignity of gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgendered people.)
