Tidy Box & The Crazy Bastard

A fried-out masterpiece by one of the mainstays of the true Boston underground music world. This second full length from DELUXX is primarily the home recordings of Mark Perretta by himself. The results are quite different from what you would expect from the bedroom. Not your typical lo-fi whine-fest, this record crawls dangerously close to the ROCK righteousness of Royal Trux, with a manic tone remindful of some of the Roky Erikson solo recordings. Certain to be of interest to old-skool Sebadoh and Folk Implosion fans (shared members, collateral scene occurrances...might as well include Cheater Slicks too then) but Mr Perretta is of his own original style, and mind.
