America's premier psychedelic noise artists, Yellow Swans have released their first Major work of 2006. Drift is a unique presentation of the more melodic and gentle side of this band. Drift sees shimmering guitars and singing electronic squalls ease effortlessly into the harsh walls of static and burning wires that they are known for. The 3 movements are culled from months of live recordings, assembled into dream-like landscapes by Peter Swanson, with special attention to his meditative drone-work and fellow bandmate Gabriel Mindel Saloman’s mesmeric guitar work.
