VINYL FORMAT. With the release of their second album, As the Eternal Cowboy, Against Me! had firmly established themselves as a genre-defying success. With the mention of a third album in the works, just about everyone was champing at the bit to get their hands on the new material. As it happens, the building wall of pressure proved too great a force and eventually a handful of demos from the upcoming album, Searching For a Former Clarity were stolen and leaked to the public. The initial response to the songs was unanimously positive, and news spread from the few who had heard to the masses that hadn't. Eventually, Searching For a Former Clarity was released and more than satisfied all curiosity. Yet, even years later, the leaked demos continue to be subject to rumors and speculation. Everyone seems to know a friend's coworker's cousin who allegedly heard them and invariably claims that the original incarnations were better than the final versions. But now, with the release of Total Clarity, everyone will get the chance to peek behind the curtain and judge for themselves. That's right, not only did AM! decide to officially release the leaked tracks, they also added never before heard recordings from the same demo sessions. Additionally, among the 15 tracks, there are three which were never re-recorded for Searching. Total Clarity offers a gritty simplicity that reconciles the songs to the passionate essence Against Me! is loved for.
