Township Funk Remixes

VINYL FORMAT. The YouTube-phenomenon-turned-club-hit "Township Funk" put the Kwaito sound onto the international stage and brought DJ Mujava with it. Picked up by DJs everywhere, topping "Best of 2008" charts and heard in clubs around the world, the memorable melody and clattering dancefloor filler found itself the subject of dozens upon dozens of remixes which circulated the internet and YouTube within days of the official release on Warp. Now, Warp is releasing the first official remixes on a limited 12" pressing, featuring Mark Pritchard (of Harmonic 313 and Jedi Knights fame), Matias Aguayo and Hyperdub artist Ikonika. These re-imaginings of such an iconic track manage to recontextualize without overcomplicating or losing the original flavor. Dubbed out, grungy, atmospheric, these remixes are sure to find their way to the dancefloor in 2009.
