Toy

This is the self titled debut album by Toy. Toy is an electronic duo formed by UK composer Alisdair Stirling and producer Jorgen Traeen from Bergen, Norway. Toy's playful tunes mixes Radiophonic Workshop, The Residents (around Diskomo), Silver Apples, Frank Zappa and Japanese style electronica (from YMO to Zongamin and Cornelius) with their own Scandinavian electro weirdness roots. Combining the analogue synth sounds of the 70s with kids TV, leftfield dance music and electro, Toy creates wonderful and infectious pop. Jorgen Traeen runs the important Duper Studios in Bergen, a space he also shares with Royksopp, Telle Records and Bjorn Torske among others. Traeen is a well known producer who among others has produced Sondre Lerche, Magnet and Jaga Jazzist.
