2010, Popsick Records
'A percolating fixture of the Toronto indie scene for the past three years, the Guest Bedroom unleash another all-too-short blast of brain-infecting angular post-punk pop on their third EP. On standout opener, "Planted," vocalist Sandi Falconer alternates between singing pointed questions in passionate verses and shouting urgent call-and-answer cries of "I take things seriously!" in energetic choruses. Track "Points of Reference" picks up where criminally overlooked West Coast punks Cadeaux left off in 2006 with spiky guitars and jerky rhythms delivering oddball hooks galore. Together with older tracks "No Thief" and "We Like Accidents," the Guest Bedroom have amassed the makings of a killer debut LP.' - Jordan Bimm / NOW Magazine
