Truxton

In 1997, Johnannes Armentrout, whose nickname is Hansi, began making a name for himself in the open mic circuit of the Bay Area as a solo acoustic/folk act called "Hansi." Hansi soon recruited friends Lucas White (also in the LIBRARIANS/Pandacide Records) and Francis Choung (also in FROM MONUMENTS TO MASSES/Dimmak Records) to complete and fill out a full working band, which in 2003 adorned the name TRUXTON. What has come of the union is a powerful brand of indie rock with traditional pop/rock sensibilities. This self-titled full-length debut on Substandard comprises of older and newer tracks, documenting the bands inception, and current direction. This is a must-have for fans of indie rock in the vein of SUNNY DAY REAL ESTATE, ELLIOT SMITH, NEIL YOUNG, HAYDEN, DEATH CAB FOR CUTIE, with a San Diego influence.
