Having released Duckweed Smuggled Home on their own label, Tse Tse Fly were invited to support fellow Leeds band The Wedding Present on their UK tour. This led to their recording contract with Cherry Red and the release of two well-received EPs. Mudflat Joey was produced by Richard Formby, who has worked with The Telescopes and Spectrum (ex-Spacemen 3).
