2001, Smalltown Supersound
The sound of Jazzkammer is collage music mixed with free-improvisation
electronica. Timbre sound textures, drones, crashing noise, digital
glitches, turntable static, lowercase electronics, pop culture samplings and
location recordings creates a strange soundworld. Jazzkammer live is a
mixture of free-improvisation and re-composition, using a minimal set-up of
casio, turntable, contact-mics, samplers, gameboy, powerbook and
electronics, but pushing the limited resources to maximum results. LASSE
MARHAUG and JOHN HEGRE formed Jazzkammer in 1998 after the successful live
collaboration and album with Helge Sten (Deathprod/Supersilent) titled "The
Comfort of Objects" on OHM Records. Their first album, "Timex" was released
on Rune Grammofon in late 1999. In early 2000, their second album, titled
"Hot Action Sexy Karaoke" was released on US label Ground Fault Recordings.
In June Jazzkammer will be ready with a new album, titled Rolex, on
