Sharpen Your Teeth (CD)
The highly anticipated first full-length from Modest Mouse singer/guitarist Isaac Brock. On "Sharpen Your Teeth," Mr. Brock is ably aided and abetted throughout by the enigmatic John Orth, as well as such luminaries as Tim Rutili of Califone/Red Red Meat and The Black Heart Procession's Pall Jenkins.

| A side project for Modest Mouse founder Isaac Brock, this CD carries some very familiar sounds from such CD's as Sad Sappy Sucker & Everywhere & His Nasty Parlour Tricks. Many of the songs such as Things I Don't Remember & Hotcha Girl make this CD seem new yet as said earlier, an interesting change for the better...but not as good as Modest Mouse music in general. | |

| Unlike many other reviews, I have listened to the entire cd and I feel it a great departure from Isaac Brock's previous work with Modest Mouse. I'am not trying to imply that it's better just alot more experimental opposed to what you may have heard from most indie music these days. I feel "Cat Faces" is a stand out track on this album. With errie vocals and mellow acoustic's it will soon become one of your favorite's. If you are a Modest Mouse fan then I would definetly check this one out, But for all you Built to Spill lovers I would recommend to look more into Death Cab For Cutie. | |
