2002, Kill Rock Stars
The third solo album from Long Island's Mike Murphy (ex-Skels) was written for his uncle Pete, a NYC firefighter who died on September 11th. It's an album for one; for the person who'll never hear it, but filled with songs he would have appreciated. It's an album recorded during an extended emotional collapse, filled with sorrow, anger, longing, and some humor. No uplift, anthems, or politics.
