Even in a world of filth and fear there is respite. Conformity makes sweeping cultural change quick and convenient but the thoughtlessly absorbed pay-off for this expedience is the loss of individual ideas. Swimming against the tide of ever increasing commercial pressure, The Black Dog and Black Sifichi present Unsavoury Products, a tribute to the life and work of William Burroughs.
Adopting Burroughs infamous "cut-up technique", Unsavoury Products is not rooted in a single generic camp, but rather in the broader conceptual space that exists as a home for open-ended ideas. Unsavoury Products is a seamless 20 track exploration of contemporary existence fusing elements of Arabic rhythms, found sounds and The Black Dog's avant garde abstraction, laced with keenly observed reflection and gritty humour by the performance artist and poet Black Sifichi . Unsavoury Products is supported by a series of interpretations from friends of The Black Dog - among them CJ Bolland, 808 State, A Guy Called Gerald, Jimmy Cauty and The Beloved.
