2003, Absolutely Kosher
The debate rages on as to whether the Vangelis version or the New American Orchestra version of the Blade Runner soundtrack is the better one. But when I power down with a quart of oil and dream of electric sheep, Eltro's new album "Velodrome" uploads the dulcet tones that coax my wires warm and lull me into digital oblivion. Don't get me wrong - this is no Servotron or Captured By Robots attempt at machine control or even Add (N) to X's bawdy "Metal Fingers In My Body." The stellar bodies plucking these strings, pushing these keys, beating these skins and breathing pure entropy into these microphones, these are beings of flesh and blood, which is good because flesh and blood taste better. (Eltro's first album "Information Changer" will be reissued by us sometime soon.)
