"A musician's musician, Chris Brokaw has been making records for over 15 years, as a drummer for Codeine, a founding member and guitarist for Come, and a drummer again with the New Year. In 2002 he broke out with a critically-lauded and fully adept solo piece: Red Cities on Atavistic. His prowess as a guitarist has him touring year-round with acts like Steve Wynn, Consonant, Evan Dando, Pullman, the Willard Grant Conspiracy and his former Come partner Thalia Zedek. A long-time admirer of the songwriter Townes Van Zandt, now Brokaw has an opportunity to let his own songwriting shine on Wandering As Water. If you've seen Brokaw live, you know how much staid energy can come from one man. Armed with his guitar and a lone tapping tambourine, these recordings echo those performances in both their simplicity and in their power.
