2001, Shelflife
It's been worth the wait! After a two year hiatus, Majestic is back with their second album, "Wake up, Come out and Play!" This cd reflects the band's progression to a more full, lush sound. Vocal harmonies galore float amidst layers and layers of sound, all anchored by happy 60's beats and Scott's plethora of percussion instruments. Majestic are the epitome of feel-good pop!
"Wake Up, Come out and Play" is a very polished, cohesive album. It begins with the bouncy, energetic "Tumbling." The addition of Sarah on vocals adds a new dimension. The boy/girl vocals and organ in "Name" brings to mind the early Rocketship sound. "Wake Up" is a gorgeous lullabye inspired by Scott's newborn son, Max. Majestic has created something very beautiful in "Wake Up, Come out and Play". If ever there was an album that could put you in a good mood, this is it! For fans of: Harper's Bizarre, The Association, The Beach Boys, Free Design, Rocketship, Eggstone.
