2004, Acute Records
In 1979, Paris's Eric Debris traded in the electro-punk of METAL URBAIN for true metal machine music and unleashed his new concept, Dr. Mix and the Remix. With nothing more than a distorted guitar and a fuzzed-out drum machine, Dr. Mix and the Remix mixed originals with drastically distorted and deconstructed cover versions of '60s garage and avant-rock staples (think the Stooges, Bowie, Velvet Underground, etc.). Acute has compiled the complete Dr. Mix and the Remix recordings for the first time on CD, including the seminal "Wall of Noise" LP (listed by the Jesus and Mary Chain as one of their top 10 records ever) and many lost and rare tracks.
