2010, Jive | Monkey Puzzle Records
Sia was born in Adelaide, Australia. After finishing high school and a semester of University, she left Oz for the UK where she first began her career as an artist. She has since released three critically-acclaimed studio albums and toured worldwide both as a solo artist and with Zero 7 many times over. She quickly gained a reputation as one of the most innovative, exciting and visual artists of the past decade. In addition to her solo work, Sia has co-written with artists like Natasha Bedingfield, Will Young, and more. One of the most vibrant and interesting female solo artists of our time, she now returns with her forth studio album, We Are Born. The record is the highly anticipated follow-up to her 2007 smash, Some People Have Real Problems, and was produced by Greg Kurstin (Kylie Minogue, Ke$ha, Lily Allen). We Are Born also features contributions from The Strokes guitarist Nick Valensi and Inara George from The Bird and the Bee. The first single "Clap Your Hands" is a deliriously happy burst of good times and a call to the dance floor wherever you are. The album is replete with future dance classics including "The Fight" and "You've Changed." The haunting signature Sia ballads are also present in the guise of the beautiful "I'm in Here" and emotive Madonna cover "Oh Father," mixed with pure sophisticated pop genius tracks like "Big Girl Little Girl" and "Stop Trying."
