Berlin-based Ewan Pearson joins Kompakt's highly-coveted mix CD series. Considered to be one of the most prolific remixers on the planet and boasting an astonishing résumé as a producer for Tracey Thorn (Everything But The Girl), Delphic, The Rapture and Lost Valentinos, he is also one-half of the duo Partial Arts with Al Usher - one of Kompakt's most endearing acts. We Are Proud Of Our Choices is a delightful listen and truly brings Pearson's artistic talent as a DJ and producer together in a very personal mix. There are some unreleased gems on here - Ivan Smagghe and Roman Flügel collaborated for the first time. There's a brand-new track from Jamie Jones and Lee Foss in their Hot Natured guise, and John Talabot's remix for Al Usher's next single. There's a special, exclusive dub edit of Pearson's favorite track from the new Little Dragon album, and other great stuff such as a Gold Panda remix, a beautiful track from Lusine, an amazing song called "Blue Steel" from Bot'Ox out of Paris, BDI with some strange, quasi-industrial disco, plus Pearson's favorite DJ hit of 2009 from Xenia Beliayeva and the amazing Petar Dundov mix of Gregor Tresher. Says Pearson himself, "There are also a few of those private little tracks that have just stuck around for me and refused to go away over the past couple of years - Neville Watson on Rush Hour, DXR's 'Fader Pushing Sunday,' the Pitch and Hold track which is just a lovely, beatless analog synth piece."
