Three mystics emerge from dark undergrowth to find Budgie and The Byrds sharing a campfire at the beach. This is the sound of Whalebones, brought to life by the deft mixing touch of Randall Dunn (Earth, Cave Singers, Black Mountain). The band has been a Seattle staple for years, sharing stages and sweaty basements with Black Mountain, Band of Horses, The Black Angels, Comets on Fire, The Cave Singers, Sleepy Sun, and The Moondoggies to name a few. A fine, fine debut from one of the Northwest's most wanted.
