RESTOCK. After being a part in countless bands where he was exposed to a wide range of musical styles, Nate Ruth decided to experiment with some recordings. The highly unlikely end result of his experimentation is a surprising new record. Those who have been around the New Jersey vicinity long enough to become familiar with Mr. Ruth's recent group efforts will surely not be shocked to hear the complicated percussion under a haze of assorted sounds on the album's opening track "end up".
There is a lot going on within the songs on "Whatever it Meant". Some may listen to the record a few times and still feel lost, but maybe that was part of the point. "If you look hard, you'll never find anything". Maybe the trick is to just accept things as they are and put aside all expectations. Maybe the trick is to accept people as they are without judging them. But all in all...there is something on this highly conceptual record for everyone and no-one. Definitely for fans of Sonic Youth, My Bloody Valentine and Radiohead.
