2004, Ba Da Bing!
Ireland's Adrian Crowley sings disparate songs with a deep, gentle voice, and writes touching ballads with a sensitive flair. His second record and first domestic release, When You Are Here You Are Family, was recorded in Chicago with Steve Albini and Crowleys' band, which consists of Kate Ellis on cello and Thomas Haugh on drums. The record just came out in Ireland this October, and Crowley is currently touring the country in support. Somewhat reminiscent of Nick Drake, Red House Painters, Simon Joyner and/or Palace, Crowley draws his own intricate spell, choosing subtlety and eloquence over cheap dramatics.
