VINYL FORMAT. The Wilderness of Manitoba is one of those bands you'll be proud to say you discovered first. Drawing comparisons ranging from Fleet Foxes and Bon Iver to Crosby, Stills and Nash and Fleetwood Mac, the contemplative arrangements of The Wilderness of Manitoba rely on the strength of their incredibly warm vocal harmonies and organic melodies. The Wilderness of Manitoba hails from the not-so-wilderness of Toronto. However, as CMJ.com writes, "[d]espite its roots in the urban landscape of Canada's largest city, the group evokes a rust colored rural feel." The majority of the album was recorded in the basement studio of a Toronto house where most of the members live together, and it was in the "urban barn" out back where the band made their live debut.
