2002, K Records
Here is Wonderue under late afternoon skies. The skies are still changing within the four corners of this album. Born in the fall, winter and spring, the tape picked up the sidewalk's hum, the ocean's swell, the echoes in the canyon and the reflection out on the lake. I wonder what will happen when you hear it, I wonder where by then you all will be, I wonder if your heart is feeling near it? I wonder if your heart is feeling free? Wonderue is the culmination of several years work by Kyle Field who travels creatively under the moniker Little Wings, a “band” he has developed as “a loosely assembled group of people helping me to make my songs; lending their singing, listening and playing for short periods of time, at which point they are recorded or witnessed live by small audiences here and there.” This album is the third in his “Wonder” triliogy, a concept based upon a drawing by the L.A. artist Victor Hu entitled “Discover Worlds of Wonder”, the first two volumes in the series being Wonder City and Worlds of Wonder. Recorded by Phil Elvrum (The Microphones) at Dub Narcotic, and in Portland at the Birdnest and Type Foundry by the Birdnest Family, Wonderue will stay with you and keep you warm all year 'round.
