2010, Thirty Tigers
Wreck Your Wheels is the stunning new album from singer/songwriter Kim Richey. Produced by Neilson Hubbard and recorded in Nashville, Wreck Your Wheels is the follow up to her critically acclaimed 2007 release Chinese Boxes. Richey, who splits her time between London and Nashville, co-wrote all eleven tracks on Wreck Your Wheels with a mix of American and UK songwriters, including Mark Olson (Jayhawks), Will Kimbrough, Pat McLaughlin and Boo Hewerdine. Wreck Your Wheels is Richey's sixth album in a fifteen year career that has never been defined by a single genre. Artists ranging from Trisha Yearwood to James Morrison have recorded Richey's songs, and her voice has enhanced albums by artists from Mary Chapin Carpenter to Ryan Adams. There is something truly special that happens when Richey's beautifully crafted songs are interpreted by the writer herself. The warmth of her vocals on top of the delicate textures of the arrangements creates an album of powerful subtlety and grace.
