2008, self-released
You Don't Know What You're Talking About is the self-released debut EP from the up and coming NYC Americana/indie rock band jacksonknife. Known for their witty and charming live shows, jacksonknife has shared the stage with the likes of The French Kicks and Ra Ra Riot.
Recorded and produced in late 2007 by Kyle "Slick" Johnson (Modest Mouse, The Hives), You Don't Know What You're Talking About is an energetic hybrid of pop, indie rock, and folk. From Jeremy Kirkland's carefully conceived songwriting to Kyle Johnson's lush production, the album is at once satisfying and concise. The songs, with themes such as love, family and technology, cascade at a perfect pace through the album's entirety, accented all the way by just the right amount of melody and instrumentation.
