2004, Clairecords
Domestic issue of the debut album from the Philadelphia band, Highspire. Usually labeled "shoegaze" or "dreampop," Highspire is more interested in expanding these sounds and crossbreeding with other musical ideas to create their own style of symphonic-rock-pop. Five of the album's 13 tracks were mostly written and recorded on the fly while Alex and EJ were staying in an old haunted farmhouse estate (Lime Spring Farms in Lancaster, PA, built in 1720 and former residence of US presidents, FDR and Polk). The closing track was also partly recorded in the estate's haunted English-style rose gardens, and the band insists, "Something weird was in the air." This edition of "Your Everything" features the track "See the Lines," unavailable anywhere else! The artwork for the disc was also revamped and upgraded, and includes an eight-page booklet with printed lyrics and metallic silver ink!
