2010, Cassius
VINYL FORMAT. For the second Cassius Records release, and to carry on with the Youth Speed, Trouble, Cigarettes adventure, we give you four remixes created by talented producers from across Europe and the U.S. First, Reset!'s track somehow manages to be both powerfully unique and heavily influenced by hip hop, soul and 'dance music' in general. Their 'Trouble' mix could have been done by the jb's if they were still twenty-something and into house music. It rocks and never stops. Radio Slave's distinctive mix takes us directly to Lagos circa 1973. In 'The No Boundaries Way,' Matt's more than minimal, more than electro, more than techno. He stripped down 'ystc' to the max and his remix is a true Chicago-infused gem. The final remix, 'Juvenile' by Belgium's The Subs,' is so loud, so diverse, so techno-throwback, that we couldn't stop playing it when we received it.
