You've Done It Now

Features members of Gold Standard Laboratories', Kill Me Tomorrow. Playfully dubbed "No Romantic," this EP doesn't fall into the fashionable trappings of the kitsch-riddled electroclash scene. Nor does it produce the specialized opaque noise of current electro-experimentalists emulating Throbbing Gristle and Merzbow. Tender Buttons emerge somewhere in-between, and actually move further ahead--with a blend of post-future shocked synthpunk that is as melodically adventurous as it is sonically aggressive. The songs are manic mini-tragedies for an empire that doesn't know it has died and whose borders still overflow with young souls struggling to survive. "You've Done It Now" sounds like the score to a film based on a Phillip K. Dick short story and directed by David Lynch.
