June of 44
Louisville, Kentucky
By Jeff Mueller

1999 Memories:

June of 44 played 99 shows in 1999, we toured the US, Australia, Europe, and Taiwan... I hadn't thought about it in a while, but in hindsight, we went from a fairly active co-existence with many other amazing bands (Rex, The Boom, The Crownhate Ruin, The Sonora Pine, Lungfish, Shipping News...), to something much more direct and exclusively concentrated. In previous years, we were decidedly productive, and had always toured in support of records, but hadn't ever really gone after it as hard as this. Ultimately, the year sort of ate us. Coincidentally, it's been ten years since we've played together, sort of an anniversary of our own.
