2007 Reflections:
I started off 2007 by getting dumped! That had a pretty big impact on our music. Many beautiful, heartbreaking songs were the result. 2007 was one of the few years we didn't record a proper LP, we just toured relentlessly. Therefore, the tour support CD from Insound!
Most of the songs came from an amazing show we played at Bottom of the Hill in San Francisco. The recording was done by a fan on mini-disc in the back of the room, proof you don't need to go hi-tech to get a great live recording.
I had been a fan of the first tour CD series - Tristeza, Bright Eyes, Calla, so I was actually quite honored to get to do one! It was a real "are we cool enough?" moment. Kathy and I been Insound fans since the start, I'm proud to say. Ever since we were doing records for Tree and Audio Information Phenomena! I feel like as musicians, we've grown up together with Insound.
I think the tour support series has proven how Insound really supports bands, instead of just selling product. I also think Insound has really kept the bar high as far as working with incredible artists and releasing limited edition items.
