2008 Memories:

I think we spent the first half of 2008 recording You & Me. We also spent most of 2007 recording You & Me as well but it ended with us getting dropped from our record label and our manager quitting. That was pretty, pretty dark. We didn't really no what to expect after that, but right around January we went into this guy Chris Zane's studio for the first time and really got our act together. He turned out to be a real godsend. From about January to June we worked with him in New York.

We realized later that we as a band had spent around 1500 dollars at this restaurant La Esquina down the street from his studio as we ate there three meals a day. So I guess, musically speaking, I think I'll remember Chris Zane the most. We had never found someone of such a similar mindset in terms of how to finish what we wanted to do before. And I'm not sure things would have turned out the same without him.

We played a lot of shows the rest of the year and I especially enjoyed our trip to New Orleans and our show in Memphis. We met a lot of horn players hiring them from the classifieds and our guys in New Orleans and Memphis were really smoking. One of the guys in Memphis was the only survivor of Otis Redding's plane crash. He was a really interesting guy. It's been a lot more fun traveling with a big gang of guys and playing with different people every night although sometimes the whole organization of it can get you into trouble.
