	SUFJAN STEVENS 'Songs for Christmas ' (Asthmatic Kitty)
	In December 2001, Sufjan Stevens set out to create a Christmas gift for his friends and family. The result was a 7-song recording that he called, Noel Volume 1. Over each of the next few Christmas seasons Sufjan would create a new EP to add to the collection. As he was recording Peace Volume V (in the summer of 2006), he considered how best to 'officially' release this music in to the world. He said he was, "determined to present the EPs in their original form - flaws, blemishes, mistakes and all. A compilation would have been a cumbersome compromise. A 'Greatest Hits' would have been heartbreaking (How to choose?)." In addition to the music he wanted to add a 'lavish display of ornamentation' to coincide with the spirit of excess and overindulgence that is the hallmark of Christmas. Enclosed in the box you will find essays, a short story, song chords & lyrics, photos, a family portrait, and wishes for a Happy Christmas.

	This box set duplicates down to the smallest detail the singles the Clash released in the UK. It includes 19 CDs-- each packaged in its own sleeve, replicating the design of the original 7"-- all the attendant B-sides, 12" mixes, and promo-only cuts associated with each release. The CDs are even black with faux grooves and each has a little label at the center of the disc to make it look like a 45. WOW!!

	THE HEAD SET 'Way Past Used ' (Self-Released)
	Drawing on influences ranging from Motown to the Bowery, The Head Set, fueled by guitars and sweat instead of synths and eyeliner, have crafted a smart, modern rock album that is instantly familiar yet captivatingly different.

	THE SHINS 'Phantom Limb' (Sub Pop)
	The Shins have a new album coming out! This is the first single from that album and will include two exclusive b-sides ("Nothing at All" and an alternate version of the album track "Spilt Needles"). This is the song we all think/hope Natalie Portman might like best.

	THUNDERBIRDS ARE NOW! 'Live At Spaceland 10/17/06' (Kufala)
	Bursting out of Detroit's pollution-and-crime-ridden streets like Robocop after one too many Yellow Jackets, Thunderbirds are Now! deliver catchy, smart, melodic, fast, direct and danceable rock with a nod to late '70s and early '80s post-punk. Live at Spaceland 10/14/2006!

	TK WEBB 'Phantom Parade ' (The Social Registry)
	At 28 years old, having been an in-demand guitar and harmonica player for years, TK came to this record as a man determined and you can hear it in the music. The resulting work is an almost instant classic; versed in the American musical tradition with perfectly structured songs littered with imagery woven out of everyday experience.

	TOM WAITS 'Orphans' (Anti)
	This amazing three-disc Tom Waits career retrospective contains thirty never-before- heard recordings, plus rare songs taken from collaborations with artists in film, literature and music�complete with a 94-page booklet of lyrics and rare photos.

	VARIOUS ARTISTS 'Plague Songs' (4AD)
	A collection of songs based on the ten biblical plagues that take place in the book of Exodus. These songs were commissioned by a British arts organization called Artangel to form part of a large-scale public art event. Contributions on this CD come from Scott Walker, Rufus Wainright, Brian Eno, Robert Wyatt, Stephin Merritt, Laurie Anderson, and Imogen Heap.

Just in time for the holidays, Caldo Verde Records will release a limited edition, 20-song, live compilation from Red House Painters and Sun Kil Moon songwriter Mark Kozelek!			DECEMBER 5TH RELEASE DATE. The first release by Okkervil River since 2005's masterful Black Sheep Boy project. Locked in the grooves of this limited-edition vinyl-only release is what might be Okkervil River's most accessible and most contentious song, "The President's Dead."

	Sonic Youth 'The Destroyed Room: B-Sides and Rarities PRE-ORDER' (Geffen)			The Apples in Stereo 'New Magnetic Wonder PRE-ORDER' (Yep Roc/Simian)
			DECEMBER 12TH RELEASE DATE. A band-chosen collection of near-hidden Sonic Youth gems. The album brings together tracks from throughout the band's career - focusing on tracks previously available only on vinyl, limited-release compilations, or as b-sides to international singles.			FEBRUARY 6TH RELEASE DATE. Indie-rock stalwarts The Apples In Stereo mark their first release in five years, as well as their fifth official full-length album, with New Magnetic Wonder. The first release on Yep Roc Records' joint venture with Elijah Woods' newly formed record label, Simian Records, New Magnetic Wonder was produced by Bryce Goggin (Pavement, Sebadoh, Sean Lennon) and is surely the most elaborate Apples production to date.
